A busy little girl

I like to keep Kaitlyn very busy and engaged most of the time. If she's busy, she's happy!

Here's an idea of what her daily activities consist of at 18 months of age.

Monday: Tiny Tots story time at the library, and the park if it's not raining
Tuesday: Indoor play park at the community center (when it's rainy) - we turn the kids lose in the gym which is crammed full with indoor slides, tons of balls, little cars, scooters, gymnastics equipment and lots of other kids to play with. Starting in November, we'll be adding swim lessons after dinner.
Wednesday: Another day at the indoor park or outdoor park and her class "bubbles, balls & bean bags".
Thursday: Children's Museum in the morning followed by swim class in the evening.
Friday: Tiny Tots story time at the library. It's much like a preschool class as the kids are given simple specific direction for tasks by the teacher. The teacher reads a couple of interactive books, then passes out books for us to read one-on-one. We sing a few songs, dance and play with toys.

She is turning into quite the outgoing little girl! Throw in coffee with friends and other errands to round things out a bit... Let's hope her sister can keep up with us!

We are still alive!

Alright, I tried. Blogging isn't as easy now that I'm home with Kaitlyn, that is, compared to sitting at a desk and surfing the net for 6-7 hours a day at my last job.

Nothing too new and exciting to report... just a quick post to say we are alive and relatively well. Life has been crazy for us lately, as usual.

The baby seems to be doing well, too. She's been kicking more and more everyday and is getting pretty strong. Well, as strong as a 1lb fetus can be. We've been talking about names and I think we may have decided! So far, Audrey Elizabeth Hughson, is ranked as our #1 choice. I've always liked Audrey (perhaps because I like Audrey Hepburn) and I also like Elizabeth... but only for a middle name. I wouldn't choose that for a first name. We'll see... Elizabeth may not stay for good.

that's all folks... sorry, this is an incredibly boring, badly written excuse for a blog update. but hey - you get what you get. :)
